Privacy policy

What this website keeps when you visit it or send us a message, and who else sees it.

This is the privacy policy of Amped Up LLC for ampedupllc.com. It covers the website only.

The contact form

The form asks for your name, phone number and email address, the property address, the service you choose, how you heard about us and whatever you write in the message. When you press Get an Estimate, the site saves what you entered in its own database on Cloudflare, with the page you sent it from and the country your connection is in. Then it emails the same details through Cloudflare’s email service, so a reply can come straight back to you. That’s ordinary email, so leave anything sensitive out of it.

Our own record of visits

Each time a page loads, the site makes a note of it on Cloudflare’s servers, before anything runs in your browser:

  • which page it was, and the website, search or ad that brought you, if there was one;
  • whether you’re on a phone, tablet or computer, and which browser;
  • the town, state and country your connection is in and its internet provider, as Cloudflare estimates them.

It doesn’t store your IP address or anything with your name on it. It also notes when someone taps the phone number or the email address, opens directions or sends the form, and how many seconds each page is on screen. A tap or a sent form is kept with how that visit began, the browser’s language and time zone, and the same rough location, down to the ZIP code. That’s how we see which pages lead people to get in touch.

Visits from outside the United States are turned away, and the country Cloudflare reports for your connection is what decides it.

Cookies

The site sets one cookie of its own, ts_src, on the first page of a visit. It remembers how the visit began (the site, search or ad that sent you, the page you landed on, the kind of device and the time) so a call or a message can be traced back to it. It holds no identifier and is set to expire when you close your browser.

Google Analytics sets two more: _ga, a random number that tells your browser apart from others when you come back, and _ga_3E4150JBWN, which keeps track of the visit you’re on.

The Meta Pixel sets _fbp, a random number Meta uses to recognize your browser when you visit again.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics gives us a second count of visits, beside our own. It runs in your browser and tells Google which pages you look at, how you got here, your device and browser, and roughly where you are. It starts a few seconds after a page has loaded, or as soon as you tap, click, scroll or press a key. On the page that thanks you for a message, it starts at once and tells Google a message was sent and from which page, but not what it said. Google says what it does with that in its privacy policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Google’s opt-out add-on for your browser turns it off.

Meta Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel to see whether the ads we run on Facebook and Instagram bring people to this site. It runs in your browser and tells Meta which pages you open here, along with your browser, your device and your IP address. It starts a few seconds after a page has loaded, or as soon as you tap, click, scroll or press a key. When the page thanking you for a message opens, it tells Meta a message was sent. It doesn’t send what you wrote. If you’re signed in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, Meta can link the visit to your account. Its privacy policy covers what it does with that, and your ad preferences let you limit it.

Who else is involved

Cloudflare runs the site, its database and the form’s email, and like any host it sees your IP address when it sends you a page. The typefaces come from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches them from Google’s servers, which see your IP address as they send them. The pictures are served from this site itself.

Tell Jamie what is going on

The breaker that keeps tripping, the water heater that quit, the bathroom you are done looking at. Describe it and you get an estimate with the scope, the timeline and the cost on one page.
